The "Study Group on Sraffian Economics" (SGSE) was founded in the middle of 2006 at the Department of Public Administration of the Panteion University. The analytic basis for its research is formed by Piero Sraffa's (1960) book, Production of Commodities by Means of Commodities. Prelude to a Critique of Economic Theory, and the work of his followers. This tradition revives the Classical Political Economy and is distinguished by placing produced means of production, profits and capital accumulation at the centre of the analysis. Although the SGSE is also inspired by the works of Marx, Keynes, Kalecki, Kaldor and Goodwin, it tries to synthesize them through Sraffa's contribution.
